The images and text from Venessa Monokian's book "Isolated Thoughts" explore the isolating experience of physical, and thus social, distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. She documents the phycological impact of this strange worldwide phenomenon from her perspective. Each image is paired with somewhat common thoughts, fears, and questions that ran through her mind during this time. She produced a visual journal to document a very personal part of an unforgettable time in the history of the world.
In these challenging times, it's important to stand together and support each other. That's why for the next three months, I will be donating $5.00 from the sale of each book to two Houston-based nonprofits that I care about deeply: Project Row Houses and Box13ArtSpace. Both contemporary art organizations support artists and by offering them a safe space to develop their voices and visions.
